2016 Asia Artist Awards : B.A.P revealed, “We are very thankful and it’s an honour” and added “We will understand (the award) as a meaning to do better in promotions from now on and (we will) be B.A.P that tries their best to show the fans a much more developed images. Thank you."

”(I think) we spent the year 2016 by preparing for various overseas tour, Seoul concert and etc.“ and added "Experiences of each performances has all become a foundation so even (with our) skills, the members were able to unite more strongly.” And B.A.P has said, “(I think) we are able to say that we are B.A.P who has become more stronger just like the granite.” and showed their confidence.

With B.A.P continuing this year’s activities, they revealed, "It was the most difficult time when (we) were preparing for (our) comeback album."

B.A.P in Yurakucho, Meeting the 6 Before Their Concert

B.A.P who have just completed their large-scale world tour “LIVE ON EARTH 2016 AWAKE!!”. Right before the start of Japan concert as their tour finale, we went to see the 6 at backstage. Following the title of their new Japanese single “FEEL SO GOOD”, we asked them each about “times when I feel good”. Also, we asked them about how to enjoy Seoul.

With their Korean concert in February as the beginning, B.A.P have just completed their large scale world tour that spanned 16 countries with 30 concerts with great success. In this concert that shook the Tokyo International Forum and show their confidence, where leader and esteemed producer Bang Yongguk comments “we don’t lipsync on stage, it is all live”, it is studded with the solo performances of the members like Himchan’s singing and dancing in a cool manner in a suit style and Zelo showing off his innate dance skills, as well as powerful performances that are perfectly in sync when the 6 of them come together. When we asked whose performance was the best apart from theirs, Zelo praised “Jongup-hyung’s dance in the midair was really cool!”, whilst Himchan joked that “he can finally taste the air that Zelo breathes in (from jumping up high) (laughs)”. In this amusing scene, Jongup replies “yes yes, I was able to breathe in the fresh air that I’m not usually able to (laughs)” and the members watching from the side too burst out in laughter from their exchange.

This Summer, their 5th Japanese single “FEEL SO GOOD” was also released. Following from the title of this refreshing and pop song, we asked them when they ‘feel so good’ and…? “When I’m at the concert venue. I get really buzzed and it’s fun when I think that I’ll be on the stage soon! (Daehyun), *whilst pointing at the 7/28 issue of Hanako that featured on ‘Holidaying to beaches in Summer’* “Going to a resort like this will definitely make me feel good~. Ah! Also, when I’m spending money (laughs)” (Himchan), “Driving at night. Driving on without a concrete destination whilst listening to music” (Youngjae), “Me too, I feel good when I put the music on and have a drive… that said I’ll be in the passenger seat (laughs)” (Jongup), “A place that blasts my favourite R&B music out loud. There are many stores in Itaewon that’s near our dorm where they do that so I go frequently. The fact that it’s packed with foreigners is nice too” (Zelo), “Recently, I guess it’s when I’m showering” (Yongguk).

The interview was held 1 and a half hours before the concert. It was an interview where we felt their bubbling elation prior to a concert. Finally, we asked the group’s no. 1 “gourmet man” Himchan about his recommended spots in Seoul. “I think that Seoul is a city where you can experience both modern and past culture. After going to see the traditional houses of Seochon and Bukchon, you can go and experience modern culture at Cheongdamdong or something like that. There’s our company too, I recommend it (laughs)”.

In B.A.P’s case, I heard Jongup and Zelo created the choreography for “FEEL SO GOOD”. As their choreographer, is the seeing the member’s growth very satisfying?

PSH: The two of them choreographed it well so it was easy for me (laughs) Zelo and Jongup would discuss amongst themselves and then show me what they come up with. I would tell them beforehand what sort of moves would be suitable. Maybe because I’d learnt dance from Kang Wonrae, but if the artists themselves can produce creative content, then I believe that something of high quality can be made. Even if it’s not something with the perfect details, it’ll be much easier to communicate if the artist drew up the basic foundation.

What sort of charm does the group B.A.P hold?

PSH: B.A.P are just interesting fellows. That interestingness is good. I think good works can be produced because they are interesting. Yongguk is exactly what you’d expect of a leader. He will do anything. A creator. Although Himchan isn’t a strong dancer, his reaction whenever he dances is very good. He’s a member who can perform. Daehyun is a total mood-maker. Full with spirit and his skills continue improving. He strangely has an “old school [hip hop]” feel. Youngjae too also voices his opinion often. Jongup will quietly do what he needs to do. I feel like Jongup will do something amazing in the coming 1-2 years. ZELO is truly overflowing with talent.

We caught up with them when they visited Japan recently and we’ve got the goss on episodes from their new song’s production, concerts and more. I feel like B.A.P are going to vitalise this summer!

[INTERVIEW] B.A.P “FEEL SO GOOD” Release Commemoration

B.A.P’s new single “FEEL SO GOOD” will be released on 7/13! As the Japanese version of the their song released in February, this title track is a refreshing and funky upbeat tune. The single also includes 2 original Japanese compositions, and is a work which is overflowing with B.A.P’s new charm.

As the next single after the release of your first Japanese album “Best. Absolute. Perfect” in March, please first tell us what you feel about this single.

YJ: When it was decided that we’ll be releasing it, of course, there were the thoughts to produce good music and deliver a great work, but there was also the thought that by releasing an even better song, we’ll have the chance to meet the fans who we weren’t able to see till now.
DH: I think it’ll be great if we could show off our bright and fun side through this single. It’ll make me happy if people think “B.A.P have this side to them” and “they have this sort of image too” after hearing the song.
HC: I think it’ll be good if we can continue to show the many various colours that we B.A.P have through this work.

The title track “FEEL SO GOOD” is the Japanese version of the song of the same name you released in Korea right? It’s an upbeat tune that leaves you lighthearted and differs from the feel of your previous songs. Could you please tell us your thoughts when you first heard “FEEL SO GOOD”?

DH: I thought it was a very good song when I first listened to the demo. And also that it’ll be pretty difficult. And in reality when we were recording, there were difficult parts. There was the fact that it was a type of song that we hadn’t done before vocally, and dancing whilst singing is actually really taxing. Jongup and Zelo came up with the choreography for us, but without any consideration for the vocals…… (laughs) I’m just joking but the dance alone was difficult. And so, coordinating the moves with the singing was hard too.
ZL: When I created the choreography, whilst the song and melody was different from what we’ve shown till now, I had the intent to retain B.A.P’s essence. Each of the moves were wide-reaching and included in the choreography, so the hyungs in charge of vocals probably had a tough time……
YJ: I first accepted that idea that it’ll be difficult, but as we promoted, our singing improved and we were able to sing smoothly so that the recording for the Japanese version finished quickly too.

Just like the title “FEEL SO GOOD”, is there any thing, person or place that cheers you up?

DH: Place-wise, it’d be the dorm. Being together with the members who I don’t need to be reserved with is always fun, so if you say a place that cheers me up, it’ll be the dorm.
HC: For me *points to JU*, as long as I have this person…… (laughs)
JU: Music normally will cheer me up.

So not Himchan? (laughs)

JU: *Nods silently*
ZL: I’ll choose what to wear before I go out, and whenever I coordinate my clothes well and think “I look cute today! I look good today!”, it makes me very happy since I love fashion.
YJ: When I go eat delicious food.
YG: I’m happy as long as I’m with the members.

I was just acting as the bridge, I thought what right did I have to make rules and regulations. • Along with the rules, another thing I want to sincerely ask is that this place is very special. It is a never heard of before cafe made by a singer for their fans. It is Naver’s nature to reveal the username even if you made a nickname. The email address works, it is possible to chat 1:1, and you can send personal messages. I understand that you want to support the boys in all the ways possible, but I hope you will be able to use that love and use this space to love them more. Help B.A.P become fans of you and be together with you!
• This space still is still lacking a lot. Until the cafe becomes stable I will be taking recommendations and edit accordingly. Because the members and I are running the cafe, feedback may be slow. Because of the nature of the cafe, we are still careful of hiring staff. I will make a report guestboard and be with you guys. It may be difficult but I will do my best. I hope my sincerity gets through my ramble.
