B.A.P in Yurakucho, Meeting the 6 Before Their Concert
B.A.P who have just completed their large-scale world tour “LIVE ON EARTH 2016 AWAKE!!”. Right before the start of Japan concert as their tour finale, we went to see the 6 at backstage. Following the title of their new Japanese single “FEEL SO GOOD”, we asked them each about “times when I feel good”. Also, we asked them about how to enjoy Seoul.
With their Korean concert in February as the beginning, B.A.P have just completed their large scale world tour that spanned 16 countries with 30 concerts with great success. In this concert that shook the Tokyo International Forum and show their confidence, where leader and esteemed producer Bang Yongguk comments “we don’t lipsync on stage, it is all live”, it is studded with the solo performances of the members like Himchan’s singing and dancing in a cool manner in a suit style and Zelo showing off his innate dance skills, as well as powerful performances that are perfectly in sync when the 6 of them come together. When we asked whose performance was the best apart from theirs, Zelo praised “Jongup-hyung’s dance in the midair was really cool!”, whilst Himchan joked that “he can finally taste the air that Zelo breathes in (from jumping up high) (laughs)”. In this amusing scene, Jongup replies “yes yes, I was able to breathe in the fresh air that I’m not usually able to (laughs)” and the members watching from the side too burst out in laughter from their exchange.
This Summer, their 5th Japanese single “FEEL SO GOOD” was also released. Following from the title of this refreshing and pop song, we asked them when they ‘feel so good’ and…? “When I’m at the concert venue. I get really buzzed and it’s fun when I think that I’ll be on the stage soon! (Daehyun), *whilst pointing at the 7/28 issue of Hanako that featured on ‘Holidaying to beaches in Summer’* “Going to a resort like this will definitely make me feel good~. Ah! Also, when I’m spending money (laughs)” (Himchan), “Driving at night. Driving on without a concrete destination whilst listening to music” (Youngjae), “Me too, I feel good when I put the music on and have a drive… that said I’ll be in the passenger seat (laughs)” (Jongup), “A place that blasts my favourite R&B music out loud. There are many stores in Itaewon that’s near our dorm where they do that so I go frequently. The fact that it’s packed with foreigners is nice too” (Zelo), “Recently, I guess it’s when I’m showering” (Yongguk).
The interview was held 1 and a half hours before the concert. It was an interview where we felt their bubbling elation prior to a concert. Finally, we asked the group’s no. 1 “gourmet man” Himchan about his recommended spots in Seoul. “I think that Seoul is a city where you can experience both modern and past culture. After going to see the traditional houses of Seochon and Bukchon, you can go and experience modern culture at Cheongdamdong or something like that. There’s our company too, I recommend it (laughs)”.

In the battlefield suburb for Chinese restaurants, this shop’s popularity shot up in no time.
Opened December last year. Born in Seoul and with experience in running a restaurant in Akasaka, Chinese-background Korean veteran restaurant owner-cum-chef’s skills are on full display. “Chinese food has been popular lately and this is a restaurant that’s been gaining popularity. It’s tasty and furthermore the prices are good. I order the ‘chilli gaji’ (fried eggplant in chilli sauce) often. ‘Chilli gaji’ is an original dish by the owner, cooked by sandwiching mince between the eggplant, frying it and adding chilli sauce on top.
